Library Behavior Standards:

  • Enter quietly and remain quiet.
  • You must have an official dated & signed pass to visit during a class period.
  • Come prepared with proper documentation to borrow materials, work, study, or use the computers.       
  • No loitering, playing around or wandering around aimlessly. 
  • Never eat, drink or chew anything of any kind in the library.
  • Do not re-shelve books, place them on the circulation desk.
  • Keep backpacks off the tables.
  • Push your chair under the table when you leave.
  • Clean up all papers, materials and trash before you leave.
  • Library privileges will be lost for any disruptive behavior and if you do not follow the rules.

Mission:

The mission of Bullock County High School's Library Media Center is to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment that fosters knowledge acquisition.

Our Goals:

  • To offer students opportunities to develop their reading, computer, and research skills. 
  • To ensure access to the Internet and the Alabama Virtual Library. 
  • To implement activities that support and enrich classroom instruction and inspire students to embrace lifelong learning. 
  • The library media center aspires to be a hub of collaborative learning, cultivating creative students who appreciate literature, develop critical thinking skills, and show respect for themselves and others.

Hours:

7:30 am - 3:30 pm  Monday-Friday

Extended times may be arranged with prior planning. Teachers can schedule appointments for their classes using the Library Media Center Appointment Calendar. Students are allowed to visit the media center throughout the day with a pass from their classroom teacher. The media center strives to provide the tools and support needed for all BCHS students and to be a place of learning and relaxation for all patrons who visit. The certified media specialist is on-site and available to help students and teachers.

Charging Stations

Chromebooks 

Copy and Printing Service

Black & White prints - $.10 per page

Color prints - $.25 per page (Must check with Media Specialist for assistance with color copies.)

Hornets Corner 

A designated area containing scissors, glue, markers, tape and other common materials needed to complete projects in the media center.

A collection with approximately 8,000 titles for research and recreational reading.
